And not for cold weather either!

It’s the new year and my kids are back in school after the two-week break. I, however, missed most of the break. Working two straight weeks of overnight shifts (the first time ever) and sleeping most of my days away, I did manage to squeak in a bit of time with the chillins and Christmas…I think… but the rest was a slumber marathon. But I digress.

I know kids get clothes for Christmas (which they typically hate) but after dropping my little man off in his Transitional Kindergarten class, I homed in on all the other kids walking with their parents to their classrooms. One thing hit me like a soggy pair of underwear.

Why do these kids look like they all just stepped out of a Gap Kids ad? It’s cute, I guess, but fluffy tutu skirts, striped leggings, Ugg boots...

The Beatles Never Had Haters

This is just ridiculousness! I can’t believe it! The Beatles appeared on 53 separate radio shows between March of 1962 and June of 1965!

An audience research report for the Beatles June 4th, 1963 performance shows a divided audience: 34 percent of fans surveyed gave the Beatles an A+ or an A, but nearly as many (31 percent) gave them a grade in the C range. (The BBC grading scheme suffered from grade inflation; it only went down to C-, and “yuk” wasn’t an option.)

The report goes into more detail. “According to a few particularly enthusiastic under-twenties, they were ‘really with it’ … Other pop fans were unimpressed … complaining that their singing was noisy, harsh and untuneful, and their choice of music lacking in variety.”
